Description of Position
The VP of Operations will oversee all operations for Barcelona Wine Bar. Reporting to you will be three Area Directors, Training Manager, Director of Culinary, and dotted line support from the resources in our home office. Day to day direct responsibilities include maintaining excellent Guest Service and profitability while continuing the company’s vision, values and culture.
The Vice President of Operations is dedicated to operational excellence at all times by aligning performance measures to support the achievement of company goals. This includes execution and quality while maximizing profitability by maintaining a high-energy, high performing district where people want to work. They provide leadership, coaching and direction to the restaurants to improve operations and increase sales and profit for each location. You must be able to Strategically think about the business for the future growth and well-being of the brand.
- Provide expert direction to each Area Directors and GM’s to increase guest satisfaction and sales by delivering excellent Guest Service while staying true to Barteca’s vision, values and culture. Develop guest loyalty through quality of operation, personalized guest attention and staff development.
- Review and analyzes financial statements with Area Directors on a regular basis and develop action plans to improve results and profitability.
- Determine management needs and select quality management candidates in partnership with the Area Director and Human Resources department. Recommend and effect transfers, promotions and terminations for management employees. Provide necessary coaching to Area Directors to assist him/her in achieving maximum effectiveness.
- Ensure all assigned restaurants meet the delivery of quality food and services through the purchasing and management of food and non-food items.
- Prepares thoroughly and delivers well organized, dynamic and informative presentations to senior management as needed.
- Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems in accordance with ABRH’s Human Resources Policies and Procedures and Vision, Values and Culture.
- Proactively Communicating upward to the President/CEO
Beyond daily operations, the major immediate goals for the VP of Operations will be:
Focus on driving sales through memorable experiences: Increased guest experience metrics, overall dining experience, atmosphere, ambiance, setting the vibe in addition to food quality and service. Vibe is something that is measured and is a part of the company's DNA.
Increase sales at a reasonable pace, expectations will be set together and wont be out of reach.
- Refining a strategy that will yield a stable bench of management so that recruiting is not reactive.

qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree is highly preferred and / or minimum five years of prior multi-unit managerial restaurant experience is required.
- Head operations experience for small to large brand.
- Can think strategically
- “A love of the game,” work hands on with team to grow culture and commitment to the brand
- Must have a thorough understanding of operating and management techniques as they apply to the restaurant industry.
- Strong communication and organizational skills are essential, as well as the ability to effectively train, coach, evaluate, and discipline employees. Must be able to read, write and effectively communicate in the English language.
- Analytical and organizational skills, as well the ability to define and effectively solve and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress; ability to demonstrate sound decision-making skills.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills requiring the ability to resolve conflicting interests with the goal of obtaining cooperation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel spreadsheets, Outlook, Word) is required.
- Uses sound judgment in day-to-day decisions by applying the company’s Vision, Values and Culture
- Must be able to travel and work late nights to evaluate all day parts of the business
- Ability to interact positively with supervisor, management, coworkers, members, and the public to promote a team effort and maintain a positive and professional approach.
