Director of Operations

Description of Position

The Director of Operations will have complete oversight of three (3) existing Barcelona Wine Bar locations and be instrumental in opening more locations that are currently in the pipeline. There are currently 13 locations across four (4) regions. 

The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurants.  S/he will be responsible for achieving financial goals throughout the year and the implementation of policies and procedures worked on in collaboration with the VP of Operations. The Director of Operations shall assume an active role in strategic planning, positioning, policy-making and presenting plans to the executive team and be responsible for the implementation and execution of those plans and policies.

The Director of Operations is also responsible for hiring, training and development of General Managers through education and creative instruction.  By ensuring standardization of operations and focusing on the guest experience, the Director of Operations will lead by example and support her/his team with clear direction and partnership. 

The Director of Operations will be a natural leader whose strengths and style complement the existing team. S/he will be a respected executive of the highest integrity and a leader who can positively affect the culture, external image, and inspire performance by management and associates.

Reporting Structure

The Director of Operations will report to Rikin Lakhani, VP Operations.

qualifications

  • Leadership positions in high volume restaurants with multiple unit oversight. 
  • Proven track record of professional growth within a concept with tangible KPI goal achievement. 
  • Ability to interact positively with supervisor, management, coworkers, members, and the public to promote a team effort and maintain a positive and professional approach.
  • Ability to produce a high volume of work in a timely manner, which is accurate, complete, and of high quality.
  • Passion for the concept, cuisine and success of the brand in the given market.
  • The ideal candidate will be decisive and persuasive but not be an “ego” driven individual. The person will need to lead by example and be a “hands on” operator with the ability to see the big picture. S/he will be a strong motivator and will delegate authority with responsibility and empower management to run their respective departments, be hard working and have a positive attitude. The individual must be a measured thinker and have first-rate analytical skills.
  • The candidate should hold at least a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with at least 10 years experience in the multi-unit restaurant space.
