Description of Position

The Head of Culinary Operations is responsible for being the culinary expert for the Belgian Beer Café concept, a proven global concept with a robust long term growth pipeline. This leader will drive an innovative vision for the menu, travel and interface with franchise and license partners to deliver culinary and operational solutions and training, and lead select internal projects to help ABI deliver value in beverage sales, brand affinity, and outlet performance. This position will be primarily focused on the Belgian Beer Café concept, but responsibilities and opportunities will extend to additional hospitality concepts/projects.

key duties

  • Develop innovative menu items for the Belgian Beer Café
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal colleagues (e.g. supply, sales, marketing) and external partners (outlet owners, managers, and staff), globally and across cultures
  • Train and coach outlet managers and staff on brand and culinary standards and operating manual implementation/adherence: via travel to international locations and via phone/online interaction. 
  • Deliver value to outlet partners by providing recommendations for improving operating performance and customer experience
  • Contribute to brand and marketing efforts by driving the merchandising of the culinary experience (e.g. developing menus, food photography, etc.)
  • Establish processes and track the successful implementation of culinary and operational support programs for outlets
  • Oversee culinary and key operational components of restaurant openings (key staff hires, training, assisting with ingredient sourcing and localization of menus)
  • Become an expert on the menu, operating, and brand standards
  • Become an expert on food and beer pairing and ABI beer range
  • Contribute to concept development and project execution by ensuring a world-class F&B experience is delivered in an operationally efficient manner
  • Work with internal supply and sales teams to ensure that appropriate ABI beverages are provided to outlets in a timely manner
  • Be an expert on Belgian and/or French Cuisine
